Refugee
Airfare Loan Scheme
... helping
refugees reunite with their families.
The Refugee Airfare Loan Scheme
(RALS) helps humanitarian entrants and their families travel to
Australia.
The
scheme lends money to people who:
- are proposing or
sponsoring refugees and their families to settle in
Australia; or
- arrived as refugees and
need to bring family members to Australia.
The loans are offered by a
Brisbane-based community group. People who receive loans
do not have to pay interest when they repay the money.
Loans are available to meet
travel costs of people who:
- have their humanitarian
entrant status 202 visa; or
- have a migration visa
and are the relative of a person who arrived in Australia as
a refugee or humanitarian entrant.
The loans are designed to
help people who can not pay for their airfare to Australia any
other way.
